I am a 24 year old, wife and mom. I have a 7 month old son named Isaac, and a husband named John. We live in Wichita Falls, TX and I work for the North Texas State Hospital.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything. I always love making different things. But I tend to repeat things I truly love. I make awesome tomato sauce, my friend told me "it feels like someone is tickling my mouth." I also make lots of soups. I like making things that are really easy but impress people. I like to get compliments. Is that really a bad thing?
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family makes cookies at Christmas every year. We don't just make any old cookies though. We make what we call "Fatimonds" (fight-e-monts). They are a scandinavian cookie that is fried and has very little sugar. They are sooooo good and they take forever to make, so we always make a day of it (usually right after Thanksgiving).
My cooking triumphs
I made some Chicken noodle soup one time for a whole bunch of family to kind of sip on during a night together playing games, and I just grabbed some things from the grocery store and threw them in a pot. My husband's uncle doesn't like chicken (he spent 5 weeks in basic training with chicken for lunch and dinner every night. He got sick of it) and he told me he was "afraid of it" because he didn't like chicken. Later that evening he told me I should have someone can it because I could give Campbells and progresso a run for their money.
