About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom to a five year old daughter, with another child on the way. I like to experiment in the kitchen, why buy something when it can be homemade? My daughter likes to help out, so we do alot of cooking together. Alot of time in our house is spent in the kitchen, and it always smells yummy in the house.
My favorite things to cook
Muffins are my favorite thing to make, a basic recipe can be changed to suit your needs so easily. I'm also trying lots of pizza doughs, and breadstick recipes. I like to bake, but we don't usually finish what I make, my family isn't too into the sweet stuff. Still fun to make it though. I'm more interested in the healthier recipes every day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The one thing I remember about the food we ate as children, was that everything was made from scratch by my mom. We never had pre-packaged foods that just needed to be heated up, and everything was delicious. Now I try to make whatever I can on my own, so that my kids can have the same memories of yummy family meals that I have of my own childhood.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle
Very good. I made this today with no clue as to what I was doing and without a candy thermometer and was surprised at how easy it was. I used mixed nuts in place of just peanuts because that it what I had. Will defiantly make again.

Lasagna Roll Ups
Yummy. I gave it 4 stars because I had to change it a bit to fit our families tastes. I took out the spinach and the tofu, and added an egg to the cheese mixture to hold it all together. I made some with just cheese, and added beef to the others for DH. Will defiantly make this again.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
These are delicious. We make them at least once a week. I do change them a tiny bit, we leave off the streusel topping and I add some fresh lemon juice. The kids love them with raspberries, so we add those alot too.
