I began cooking at potlucks at work and was soon catering them for 20 to 25 people. After that I began cooking for a youth group of up 75 a week and now cook full meals for up to 150 adults once a week. I have catered for up to 350 at conferences.
My favorite things to cook
I love homestyle cooking and love a good meatloaf. I am partial to my mother's recipe. I also love cornbread and am always on the lookout for variations of Mexican Cornbread. I love anything made with a cake mix that is simple and simply wonderful.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am hispanic and have always taken for granted the traditions of tamales and menudo. While I am able to prepare both I prefer to drop in at my favorite local Mexican eateries for these tasty treats.
My cooking triumphs
A white chocolate raspberry wedding cake that the Bride's mother let me know was as good on the first anniversary as at was at the wedding and the simple joy on the face of a three year old girl as she twirls around dancing eating a homemade cupcake.
My cooking tragedies
Too much Worchestershire sauce in my Salisbury Steak gravy...
