me and my baby - Wills
About this Cook
I'm a stay at home (most of the time- I'm a Kindergarten teacher 2 days a week) mum with 2 kids - Phoebe who is 5 and Will who's 2.I help out my husband in his brewing business when I can in between looking after the kids, 2 dogs, the neighbours children etc etc .......
My favorite things to cook
Anything quick and simple that doesn't involve me trying to find spatchcocks, organic grain fed rabbits, 120 year old brie or extra virgin olive oil pressed by extra virgins!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big bowls of prawns (or shrimps) on Christmas Day outside by the pool, my mum's pavlova, dad's BBQ's and my grandma's Coke-a-cola jelly.
My cooking triumphs
Christmas lunch for 18 on a stinking hot day with a 5 week old baby! Surprisingly everything went like clockwork and I learnt that a good red wine and a glass of champagne can make all the difference!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing that really spring to mind, but I'm sure there is one to come!

Ham 'N' Cheese Pie
So quick and easy - the kids loved it! Also hubby loved it because it wasn't called a quiche - and real men don't eat Quiche! I blind baked a sheet of frozen short crust pastry as I did know what biscuit mix was (don't think we have it here in Australia)and it was lovely,I cut down on the onion though as the kids have an onion phobia.

Corned Beef Hash
This is great - I've been looking for an authentic American recipe for this in Australia for a while. Really yummy and easy.

Salt and Pepper Squid
This was so easy -I also added some chilli flakes to give it an extra kick.It tasted just like our local chinese resturant here in Sydney - only better!
