Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
i used veggie stock instead of chicken, and i stopped at the point before adding the cheese and just stirred grated cheddar into my bowl to taste and let it melt. very delicious, but i think next time i will reduce the amount of water/stock used as i ended up pureeing 3/4 of the soup rather than 1/2 to get it to what i considered a thick enough texture. all in all, however, a good recipe!

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
what more can i say that hasn't already been said!? i followed the recipe exactly, and it tasted just as good as the flourless chocolate cake at a favourite french restaurant. simple to make, and simply delectable.

Roasted Red Pepper and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
my boyfriend and i both enjoyed this one! i had white potatoes in the cupboard at the time, so used 5 small/medium of those instead of red. i also had a couple of fresh red peppers, so i just peeled and roasted them myself with a little olive oil. also used a veggie boullion cube with about 1 L of water to make the broth since we don't eat meat. came out great, and there was just enough red pepper to enhance the flavour without overpowering the other ingredients. i know i didn't follow the recipe exactly, but i don't see how this recipe will make 6 servings unless it's as a starter (the pot was completely emptied between the two of us eating it as a meal with bread and we still had room for dessert). i will definitely make this one again, but if i were cooking for more than 2 people, i would increase the portions considerably. either way, great soup!

Chunky Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
great soup, very hearty! i also made mine a veggie version just by omitting the ham, but it was still fantastic! a tad salty, but i think that might've been my fault. to be on the safe side, i would just be sure to add salt to taste at the end instead of throwing it in with the veg in the beginning. i also added more pepper, but again, that's probably suited to taste.

Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
my friends and i loved the fresh taste of this sauce when we made homemade pizza! i find a lot of tomato sauces are too sweet for my tastes, so i omitted the sugar and increased the amount of pepper to taste (i like a lot of pepper). it tasted great!
