Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Mine was a bust also. I did not stir and followed everyone's suggestion and used a candy thermometer. I probably poured off a cup of butter. I have another toffee recipe that calls for 2 cups butter and 3 cups sugar - I am going to try that one to see if it will come out. I must say that it tasted okay but just was very oily on the bottom.

Chocolate Revel Bars

I used to make these many years ago - got the recipe out of an oatmeal box (this one has been a keeper all these years). That's what I like about this site - I forget about some of these recipes until I start looking for something different to make. I do not bake this for 35 min. - more like 25 min. otherwise they get too brown.

I didn't like the thickness as they didn't get done in the middle. Think I would flatten the ball some so they would not be as thick & doughy in the center.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Peanut Butter Cake II

I put in a sheet pan so wish I would have used only half the frosting as it was very sweet. I had trouble getting the cake to bake in the 25 minutes required - don't know what I did wrong - it tasted very undone in the center. There was a great peanut butter taste to it.

Caramel Apple Dip

I too will probably add more caramel - it was very good the way the recipe is written but I would like a slightly more caramel taste. This dip is good both warm & cold.

Cream Soup Base

It's very, very thick so you have to add lots of extra liquid. Also very salty so I would decrease the bouillon and taste before adding more - or maybe use chicken broth instead. I made cream of asparagus soup and added all the liquid from the can - besides being to salty, it had a good asparagus taste.

Banana Crumb Muffins

These were very good. I did not have all the banana it called for so I added about a 1/3 c. sour cream. They remind me of banana bread only in muffin form - of course the streusel topping makes them special.

Caramel Apple Crisp

The taste was okay but as a previous reviewer, mine too tended to separate so didn't look real appetizing. Instead of being gooey there was about a half inch of liquid on the bottom (maybe it was the type of apple I used). I did like the flavor - I originally thought it would be to sweet but it was about right.

White Almond Wedding Cake

This is a totally awesome cake! I could not bring myself to add an additional cup of sugar so I added only a 1/2 cup. This cake I thought actually tasted better the next day. You can easily impress anyone with this cake.

Terrific Trail Mix

This is a great recipe as you can make to your taste. The sunflower seeds & unsalted peanuts are the staple then add whatever dried fruit, added nuts, etc. you like. Thanks for an addictive snack mix!

PB&J Bars

Yes! Very easy to make. They were yummy too. I think I found a quick new bar cookie and will experiment with different kinds of jams or preserves. I tasted a piece after it cooled and it was great so I can't wait to taste after it's been refrigerated.

Lemon Poke Cake I

This cake was good but way, way, way to sweet (and I like sweet). Could not taste the lemon and I substituted lemon juice for the water in my glaze. I also only had a white cake so made it with that.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Why would you use a box pancake mix when this recipe makes the greatest pancakes. I have never had them fail and they are light & fluffy.

Blueberry Breakfast Sauce

I will never buy to use as a topping a can of blueberry pie filling again! This recipe is GREAT! I cut down on the sugar but that is what is great, you can make as sweet as you want. We put on pancakes and cheesecake -yummy!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

I tried to incorporate all the reviews (ingredients were room temperature, used heavy cream, a little more crust, greased the springform pan, baked for an hour then let sit till morning. . .). It was cracked to the point it did not look appetizing but tasted okay - not super great but okay.
