About this Cook
I am married 16 years to Rob and the happy, harried, SAHM to 6 kids ages 16, 14, 14, 10, 4 and 3. I love holidays and cooking on vacation for all our friends at the lake.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, Roast Chicken, Pies, Cakes, homemade soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom first taught me how to make a pie crust and I have taken it from there. I am now teaching my 10 and 14 yr. olds how to roll out a crust!
My cooking triumphs
I made a ragu out of chicken and country ribs for the first time last summer on my tiny stove at Lake George. It was good enough to make a grown man cry. It was even better 2 days later on penne baked with bechamel sauce.
My cooking tragedies
I have had several BBQ sparerib debacles. The first one was when we were recently married and had my husband's boss, Fr. Greg, over for dinner! It was like a preview of hell right on our backyard grill!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
These were very very good! I doubled the recipe and found the batter a bit thick so I added more milk. Once when I made these i had about a cup of buttermilk to get rid of so I substituted that for the milk and added 3/4tsp of baking soda. Still came out great!

Jewish Apple Cake I
This cake is a hit wherever I bring it. Be careful not to over-bake it.

Vanilla Pumpkin Pie
This was really good. My husband, who does not especially like pumpkin pie, complemented me on this on Thanksgiving. The "best you have ever made" he said! I did add about a 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. I am making it again for Christmas Eve.
