About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am working toward making my own family traditions with my daughters, like a heart cake for dad on Valentine's Day, cookies for Christmas, and so on.
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I love to throw dinner parties for friends and family. We threw a "deck warming" party this summer and impresed the pants off of 15 great friends.
My cooking tragedies
I'm not very good at cooking without a recipe, so a joke between my husband and me is that, if there isn't a recipe in sight while I'm cooking, chances are he won't like it. He's a good sport, though, and, if I eat something -- even if it's not great, he'll eat it, too.

Bacon Water Chestnut Wraps
I make this all the time and now my extended family has stolen the recipe and makes it all the time. We love it. The only change is to use 1/2 or 1/3 of the chili sauce; it still has punch, just makes it edible for even people who don't like it spicy.

Greek Pasta Salad with Shrimp, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peppers, and Feta
We can't get enough of this pasta salad. While family loves it, even the baby!
