About this Cook
I'm 23, I just got married in on June 4, 2005 in New Brunswick to the most wonderful man ever, his name is Ben. And we just moved to Montreal in July, I love life, but I do miss home! Last year I was an assistant cook at a college which is where my cooking began!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things all the time, which is why I love this website. I've just started cooking so I don't know if I have a favorite yet, but I like trying pasta sauces and slow cooker meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The best tradition would be Christmas time cooking. My mom and I would always bake cookies and sweets on the holidays. I will definatly carry that one on when I have children.
My cooking triumphs
At the college I worked at there was 50 students and every 3rd Sunday I was the head cook. The menu was Chicken, baked potatoes, veggies and ice cream sundaes. (It may sound easy, but 50 mouths is not that easy!)
My cooking tragedies
I tried a slow cooker recipe (not from here)with chicken and lots of tomatoe paste and herbs, and it was just horrible, we had to throw it out! It was so bitter! I don't know who published that in the actual slow cooker booklet, but it needs to be removed!

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes
These were good- I used half ww flour, half white, and 1/2 tsp salt, and no oil. I do think that there was too much strawberries though- it made the cooked pancake seem raw it was so gooey with berries...next time I will only do a 1/2 cup. Yummy though, thanks.

Zucchini Brownies
A-MAZ-ING!!! Although, lol, I did add a couple tbsp of milk to the end batter as it was really really dry, I could hardly mix it. Anyways, it turned out great, and bravo to the icing! Tasts just like the jar kind! Definatley a keeper!

Mexican Casserole
This is an excellent starter recipe, it's very versatile which I love. I cooked my chicken, added garlic salt and chopped onions. Then added the taco seasoning, creamed corn, red kidney beans, mild salsa, 1 cup of rice, and 1/2 cup of sour cream. It's delicious! I plan to rip up a tortilla as suggested by another reviewer as I don't have taco chips, and then add some shredded cheese. It's huge! It is a tad spicy, so next time I will only add a tbsp of taco seasoning. I would definatly not put in a whole package unless you like it really spicy. Thanks!
