I've been making this soup for months now. It is great with pretty much whatever kind of canned or fresh tomatoes you have on hand. A little coriander and cilantro goes nicely. I like to leave one of the cans of beans unblended.

Wakula's First Attempt at Vegetable Stew

This was delicious! I made it exactly as described, then embellished with some previously cooked pork loin braised in milk. It didn't need it, mind you, I just had it on hand. It's like the comfortyest comfort food ever. I will make this stew forevermore.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

This would have been 5 stars, but as written, it's pretty flavorless. Needs at least a half teaspoon of salt more to have flavor. I cooked it as written the first batch, added salt the second. These perfect cookies came to life. They look like the most beautiful professional chocolate cookies and the texture is very satisfying.

Chilie Pork Tacos

I'm giving this recipe 5 stars even though it wasn't my favorite thing ever. My husband was crazy about it. This just tastes different than anything I have cooked out of ground meat before. That is pretty cool. I could probably go for a bit less vinegar. Even so, I ate a whole bunch of these on corn tortillas with a big pile of cilantro on top.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

I love this stuff. I would give it 5 stars if it was suggested to use a can of evaporated milk in place of part of the regular milk. It really makes a difference. I use almost all of mine to make fudgesicles. So much better than anything you can buy at the store.

Albondigas Soup I

My husband and I both are nuts about this soup. I mix rice in with the meatballs, but he likes it in with the soup too. Also I sub in cilantro for basil. At least in the winter. :) Labor intensive!

Indonesian Satay

The 5 stars is for the fantastic marinade. My husband is allergic to chicken so I cubed some pork tenderloin. It was amazing. I'm sure the whole neighborhood was salivating. The peanut sauce wasn't really to my taste, but peanut sauce is highly subjective.

Aunt Gail's Oatmeal Lace Cookies

How do these taste so good? Simple and delicious. My husband is allergic to almonds so no almond extract in mine. Also - these cookies spread big time on the sheet. Don't be dumb like me and get greedy with the cookie layout.

Banana Bread V

Tasted just right, I grated a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon to my taste, replaced a little white sugar with brown and didn't really measure the bananas. Perfect!

Kay's Shortbread

This gets 5 stars because it was super easy to make, and I ate the whole thing up like a fiend. My husband ate half of one, declaring them too rich for his blood. Cook at your own risk. I used a touch more sugar than called for. I've only had out of the box shortbread before and they were blown away by these. I cooked mine in a cast iron pan. Fantastic.
