About this Cook
I didn't know how to cook until I got married, then my husband had to show me how to use the knobs on the stove. I thought everything had to be cooked on high.
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles and ethnic dishes. If you can combine the two, even better. I love taking a recipe and turning it into a casserole.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Watching the food network together and bashing the cooks.
My cooking triumphs
Finally figuring out the screat to getting roasted potatoes to be nice and brown. Preheat the pan and oil, get it REALLY hot, then put your potatoes in!
My cooking tragedies
I made my husbands a from scratch birthday cake. When I took it out of the oven, I sat it on top of the range to cool. I didn't realize that the burner was on until I smelled my cake burning. I burnt the heck out of the cake, and ruined a good springform pan. I had to throw it out and start over.

Easiest Brownies Ever
These are excellent brownies. I made these because I didn't have any chips in the house. They turn out almost like a fudge. They are not cake-like brownies, if that is what you are looking for. I didn't have the problems that others reported with being to grainy or floury. Just made sure you cream the butter and sugar well, and stir the flour in slowly. A chocolate lovers dream.

Cranberry Chicken II
I can't say enough good things about this. This is very tasty and savory. We ate over rice. Very easy to make, and a good tasty filling meal. Next time, I'm going to throw in some frozen veggies.

Pork and Green Chile Casserole
This was very yummy. A great comfort food. I added some chedder cheese into the mix, and then topped with more chedder cheese. I enjoyed the texture of the brown rice in this dish. I used only 1 can of green chili's and halved the cumin. It was still awesome. I will make this again.
