About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love having people over, so I'm often making appetizers or snacks. I love stir fry and anything using fresh vegetables. Hubby's from the south, so he loves meat and potatoes and anything fried (don't we all)!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Helping my mom make tons and tons of Christmas cookies every year. In the summer, she would make my dad buy two bushels of corn, which we'd all have to help shuck. She'd boil and freeze it for the winter. It was hot, long work, but the corn tasted amazing all year round!
My cooking tragedies
I cannot make a chess pie. It's my husband's favorite and it never sets up right for me. I also manage to mess up boiled eggs just about every time I make them. I swear, I've tried every technique. I'm just a disaster when it comes to those. It's supposed to be easy - right?

Tuna Melt Sandwiches
One of my favorite things to make when I'm the only one home. Easy, cheap, and hits the spot.

Noodles and Veggies
Don't get me wrong, I've made this a million times even though I know it's a 2 star. But it's so easy, and I feel like I'm "cooking" so I feel less guilty about eating boxed junk. But, it is what it is. Depending on how saucy the noodles are, I sometimes also add canned chicken or tuna.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp
Wonderful. I ate this with ice cream for a week.
