i'm a 24 year old newlywed. i grew up with not much cooking experience; only pasta ronis, mac & cheese, mainly dinner boxes. i think that my grandma is the best cook in the world and i always looked forward to going to her house so i could eat her food! as a wedding gift, she gave me a customed designed recipe book with her favorite recipes in it. it is very precious to me. since getting married, i have just started my cooking journey and i have discovered a new love for cooking!
My favorite things to cook
i am horrible-- i love pasta and bread -- in other words, CARBS. I love to cook chicken, its the main meat in the home and beef is second. We don't eat pork. We eat lots of chicken. I love a lot of dishes, i can't begin to list here. I try new dishes all the time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
actually, we don't really have any. we didn't really grow up with traditions religiously enforced. each year was a bit of the same with some differences. i am hoping to start some new traditions when the babies come. i appreciate traditions. ;) For Christmas this year, (our first one), i decided i want to make crepes for christmas breakfast. everyone can choose their own fillings/toppings, how fun! yum ;)
My cooking triumphs
i think that when i got married i was a bit nervous with the cooking scene, i wanted my husband to be pleased and impressed. he thinks i am a great cook as if i've always been. i consider that an all-around triumph.
My cooking tragedies
for some reason, i just can't make cake. everytime i try to make it, something goes wrong :(
