Chocolate-Covered OREO Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I ended up using two boxed brownie mixes and I didn't have any heavy cream so I didn't make the ganache, I just used chocolate icing. It came out really good.....but very, very rich. This would serve a lot of people because you only needed a small helping. I will make sure I have all the ingredients next time and make it as written. yumm.

Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
I made this recipe two nights ago, unveiled the creation last night and tried it. I didn't have time to decorate it, so the picture is the "raw deal", but still nice. I have my grandmother's cheesecake recipe that has been in the family for years and next time I'll use that recipe instead. I did like the chocolate cookie crust and the ganache on the top. Next time I'll only put the cookie crust on the bottom of the pan rather than half-way up the sides and I won't make as much of the cheesecake filling as the cake is at least 4" high and very rich. Nice recipe and I will definitely try it again with the changes. Thanks for sharing!

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
Wow! This was a great big hit. As another reviewer's suggestion, I used the shiny chocolate glaze, which was perfect. I roasted pecans, chopped and sprinkled on top. Instead of using water in the cake mix, I used coffee and I also put a little instant coffee in the glaze. It was absolutely delicious. I brought some into work today and they all went crazy (even though it was almost 3 days old...it was still yummy). Thank you for this recipe!

Hearts of Palm Dip

I made this yesterday and made no changes. My grandkids didn't even know what it was (they're picky)and they loved it. I'll keep this recipe as one of my favorites!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I made this pot roast on Sunday and it was so easy and very good. I will definitely make this over and over. My pot roast was a lot larger, so I added 3 cans of soup and 2 pkgs of the onion mix. The gravy was perfect.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
Very easy and good. I used swiss cheese instead of the string cheese, and used a thin sliced deli ham (several pieces). It did need a sauce, so I made a white gravy and drizzled a little over each chicken breast. I will definitely make this again, but do recommend the changes.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
I've made this recipe as written but last night I made the following chgs: ..Added 1/2 lb Italian Sweet Sausage to the ground meat. ..Added 1/2 cup of chopped red, orange and yellow bell peppers and garlic to the onion and sauteed. ..added fresh chopped parsley. ..Used dried bread crumbs instead of crackers. We liked these changes very much. I've made the changes on my recipe card and this is what I'll use from now on. Yummy!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
I tweeked the recipe just a tad, which I shouldn't do the first time around. It's hard to give it a correct review if you don't "go by the book" so to speak. I used extra chunky peanut butter and added an add'l 2 tbl to the graham crackers. I doubled the recipe for the chocolate topping. It really tastes like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Next time I'm going to try creamy peanut butter, roll up the graham/peanut butter mixture into balls, dip them into the chocolate. Great recipe! Thank you.

Turkey Spaghetti Pie

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
I made this dish last night with left over turkey (cubed in small pieces)rather than ground meat. I used the ricotta cheese instead of sour cream as another reviewer suggested. My husband loved it, so I know he'll be requesting this often.

Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
This was very good. I thought the spinach would be a little thick, so I put only half the spinach mixture on top the 4 layers of filo, then added an add'l 4 layers of filo, then the remaining spinach mixture, topped off with 4 layers of filo. I couldn't tell there was filo in the middle though. I will make this again. Very tasty!

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
I made this dish twice last week. Once to test the recipe and then again to take over to my daughter's for her and the grandkids. Great! The only change I made was to add two slices of prosciutto on top of the pounded chicken breasts. Very, very good. This is definitely a keeper.

Albondigas Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
Yummy! I changed it up a little to my taste. I added chopped fresh spinach (about 1 1/2 cups) to the meatballs and browned them in olive oil (I doubled the recipe)and I added about 2 cups of fresh french style string beans cut into 1" pieces. I had all of this in my crock pot and about 15 min b/4 serving, I stacked fresh spinach on the top. It was absolutely wonderful. Another keeper! Thanks.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

I made this as it was written except I used imitation crab (only change I made) I served the dip with warm bagettes. What a great recipe. I will be serving this at my next family get-together because it is a keeper! Thank you for sharing.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I had baby bella mushrooms and shrimp in my frig, plugged it into search and this is the recipe that came up. This was a fantastic recipe! The sauce was very, very tasty. I always try to follow the recipe as listed the first time....then I can decide whether I need to tweek it to my liking. No tweeking here, it's great! Only thing I did different was I used whole wheat linguini. Thank you for this recipe, GREAT!

Individual Beef Wellingtons

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
I only gave this recipe 4 stars because the puff pastry turned out really soggy on the bottom. I did brown the fillets in a hot skillet before wrapping them, but next time I'll heat the cookie sheet (as another reviewer suggested). I served it with pepper crusted baked potato and skewered shrimp, yum. I will definitely try again. Thank you for this recipe.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I made a few changess yesterday when I made this: I used canned peaches, didn't cook them the first 10 min as directed for fresh peaches and used 1/4 cup of the peach juice from the can (warmed). As with other reviewers, I did double the topping and wow, it was great. I served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream...great recipe! Thx!

Pet Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
I've made these for friends, co-workers, family and neighbors. Everyone's dogs go crazy for them (no luck with my cat). I usually cook up skinless boneless chicken breasts and then process in a blender with a little water rather than use the baby food. This recipe is healthier than others I've found. Thank you Sue for sharing.

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

I made this recipe last night, except I didn't have pine nuts, so chopped up pecans and put them in a skillet to heat up and get the oils going, then made as directed. This is definitely a keeper...yummy! Will definitely make again.

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I have made several different apple crisp recipes, but this was the easiest (using cake mix) and very, very good. My guests ate this over my homemade cheesecake and pumpkin pie on Christmas Eve. Serve with real whipped cream....yummy. Thanks for this great quick recipe.

Shrimp Scampi Cheesecake Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I made this for New Years Eve. Great recipe; smoked gouda a must; made way too much. I used the puff pastry in the freezer section (6 per pkg), which made them a meal. I'll look for the smaller appetizer sized ones next time. I cut the recipe in half and I still had way too much. I put the rest in a container, heated it up the next night and served it with bread (bagette). Yum. Thank you...this is definitely a keeper!
