I am an educator in a large metropolitan area, and I currently teach 4th grade. I began to enjoy experimenting with cooking once I moved out on my own, and by default I had to become self-sufficient regarding eating quality meals. My husband was very influential in helping me aspire to become a good cook. He was a hospitality major in college, so he already knows most of the tricks of the trade! I recently became a mother to a beautiful little girl (not biased at all!J/K), and we also have 2 large dogs that enjoy any scraps that may be left at the end of a meal. I love to bake souffles, casseroles, cookies, brownies, etc. My husband and I also love to use the grill, so we take advantage of grilling as often as possible! We love to grill any kind of kabobs, a good quality steak, chicken, pork, and certain types of seafoods. Going to my parents' house for Thanksgiving. It was always guaranteed to be the best meal that we would receive all year. My mom makes to-die-for cornbread stuffing and a delicious strawberry cream cheese jello mold, both of which I cannot seem to replicate, no matter how hard I try! I hosted Easter dinner w/o any assistance from my hubby or anyone else for my entire family (about 20 or so), and I was continuously complimented on how everything turned out! Thanks to many of the recipes on this website!!! Well, when I was first dating my (now) husband, I attempted to have him over at my parents' house for a nice dinner consisting of grilled chicken as our main entree. However, after continuously hitting the "ignite" button on the grill when the first couple of times I did it failed, it finally ignited, and the flame was huge, thus burning some of my hair and eyebrows. Therefore, my husband takes the reins when it comes to grilling anything now!
