I was born in Northern California, lived in the South for 25 years and I've lived in Mexico and now England. I'm a gypsy at heart I think! Since moving to England, I've discovered some new foods and recipes, but I've opened the eyes of my new family to new foods also.
My favorite things to cook
breads, cakes, big family dinners.
My favorite family cooking traditions
If someone cooks something special, we might get the recipe, but we name it after them. ...hence, Grandma Hazel's eggs and potatoes, Aunt Donna's pasta salad, Barbara's Mexican Cassarolle, etc.
My cooking triumphs
Imparting a love for cooking to my daughters, who in turn I hope, will pass it on to their children.
My cooking tragedies
I'm a bit scattered...the smoke alarm was known as the kitchen timer, and the kitchen as "The Crematorium" during my younger days.
