King Cake minus the colored sugar
About this Cook
Graduate student studying amphibian ecology.
My favorite things to cook
muffins, breads and desserts. I also enjoy using local in-season fruits and vegetables for my recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making strudle and Christmas cookies with my mom.
My cooking triumphs
Baking cheesecakes with no cracks.
My cooking tragedies
I really enjoy experimenting with different recipes, but some turn out horrible. Too bad for my friends and boyfriend who have to suffer through the horrible dishes.

Pear Scones
These scones were very good. Just enough sweetness and the pears are flavorful. I peeled and chopped 3 pears to yield the 1 cup called for in the recipe.

Fresh Pear Cake
This cake was very good. Moist and well spiced, but light on pear favor. I used ginger instead of nutmeg.
