I'm a graphic designer and Nashville native who is quite comfortable with my southern drawl and healthy fear of bears. I take real issue with the fact I cannot isolate one eyebrow raising (my ultimate goal in life) and I'm certain eating raw cookie dough is well worth the risk of salmonella. I also do a great Michael McDonald impression (it's uncanny).
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, specifically cakes, and more specifically bundt cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making "ultimate candy" (marshmallow fudge) with my family. The offical season for ultimate candy starts on Thanksgiving and ends promptly at the close of New Year's Day. Much like leaving the holiday decorations up after New Year's, it's highly frowned upon to violate this ordinance.
My cooking triumphs
Recieving compliments on a cake from my cake-maker/decorator/perfector friend. Also noting her consumption of more than one large slice ;)
My cooking tragedies
I once was told (by an experieced cook) that in order to properly beat egg whites for macaroons, one should always do it by hand. She stood by and watch (and laughed) as I beat those silly eggs for what seemed to be hours.
