I come from a famiy that likes to cook. My mother and all of her sisters loved to cook. I now have grandchildren who are learning to cook and we have fun "cousins day" when several of the grandchildren get together to cook at Grandma's house. I like to bake cookies and cakes and lately I am enjoying a streak of cooking homemade soups and chili. I have had many compiments on my soups and find that an easy way to entertain informally. Big family dinners near Christmas and Thanksgiving. Nieghborhood Brunches and BBQ's. I won first place with a Creamy White Chili and a Mexican Corn Bread. Most of the recipes I make from this site are good. I once burned some pudding so badly that the dog wouldn't eat it. I also tried to cut a recipe down to family size for Shoo Fly Pie that was intended for restaraunt use. I couldn't cut the pie with an ax!
