About this Cook
I'm 34, oldest of five kids, so I've been cooking a long time. I have three beautiful sons and a wonderful husband to cook for.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for other people. I like making big meals, whether it's hamburger's and hotdogs with all the fixin's or roast pork with a handful of side dishes. I don't get to do it often, but that's my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite food from family get-togethers is Stuffed Artichokes. Also, after Thanksgiving, we always had oranges and nuts after pie. I don't know anyone else who does this.
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving dinner was a smash hit with my husband. It was my first turkey, my first everything, and I have this website to thank for my success.
My cooking tragedies
When I was young, my grandmother and I were baking a Big Bird molded cake. Instead of measuring 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda, I put in 1 1/2 cups. Needless to say that even though the cake looked beautiful when we decorated it, it tasted absolutely horrific. I double check all my measurements.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy
This was really simple and really good. We were running out of ideas for food and trying to use what we had and this fit the bill. I used boneless/skinless chicken breasts, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Everyone raved about it, and my two-year-old kept asking for more and more of the chicken. It went great with mashed potatoes and corn. Not exactly a health-conscious dish, but good for some nice comfort food without having to go to a restaurant.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
This was really yummy, if a little dry. It was simple to make, went well with my St. Patty's day dinner and cooked up beautifully. It had an almost cakey texture. I'd make it again.

Guinness(R) Corned Beef
Holy Schmoley was this good. I did mine in the crockpot overnight, and I'm pretty sure that was why it fell apart so beautifully - the fat slid right off the meat leaving melt-in-your-mouth corned beef behind. Everyone raved about it - the stout lends a really nice flavor to the meat.
