Sawmill Gravy

Easy, excellent, a classic. I would suggest, however, eliminating the salt from the recipe. The sausage (or the bisquits the gravy will eventally top) typically have plenty of sodium already.

Perhaps I undercooked them but the mushroom was still quite cool, as was the sauce (leftover and taken from the fridge). I ate it out of my hand, like a piece of pizza and may have found it's texture to be better had I used a knife and fork. I shouldn't rate it so low, sounds like I just didn't get it right.

Chicken Claridge Stew

This dish was easy to make due to its "on-hand" ingredients. However, I was hoping for better color, texture and overall flavor from this dish.

Made this for company. It is very simple, just a few ingredients and it came out moist and full of flavor. My guests loved it and I was happy to be able to spend less time at the stove and more time with my guests. Thanks!

Poppy Seed Cookies I

These are now my all-time favorite Christmas cookie! They are tender and light and hold their shape perfectly. They are also very versatile. I used this same batter for thumbprints.

Spicy Pear Cookies

Made these for a Christmas baking buffet. They are a more refined, adult cookie than say a traditional chocolate chip and were very popular. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is they don't travel well (they stick together) and the lemon glaze could be more appealing visually, perhaps make it a bit thicker. Wonderful flavor!
