About this Cook
I am 27 years old, newly married and living in London with my British husband. I work in the banking industry, but I am hoping to do something a little more creative in the next few years. I have weaknesses for hot chocolate, designer shoes and yorkshire terriers. I always read the dessert menu first in restaurants and although I love to cook, I hate to clean up afterwards.
My favorite things to cook
Thai Chicken Noodle Soup, Bacon and Mushroom Carbonara, Chicken Chili
My cooking triumphs
I make a pretty decent creme brulee. I received a cooking torch for my wedding and I love it! I can caramelize the creme brulee sugar really well and have managed to scald the milk and cream without burning it, but my creme brulee still has slightly more of an eggy taste than I would like. Perhaps I am bringing the temperature of the yolks up too quickly. Although this is a triumph, it is not yet perfected.
My cooking tragedies
Many of my favorite recipes from my Grandmother are cookie recipes. I destroyed too many batches to count because I can't figure out how to bake well in my UK style fan oven.

Holly's Smoked Salmon Pasta Salad
Yum, this salad has become my favorite summer salad. I brought it to a picnic and I received many compliments and requests for the recipe. Thanks for this great recipe!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V
Wow, this is an awesome recipe. I love spicy food and this recipe has so much flavor. I used a mild salsa and next time, I think I might even try a really hot one. This meal is good for busy week nights because it only requires one pot and it only took me about 30 minutes to prepare. I'll definitely use this one again.
