About this Cook
I live in Kansas City, Mo with my boyfriend. I have to say that I have been a little lazy about cooking the past couple of years--we have a lot of take out! I do love to cook and always look forward to the holidays so I can treat lots of family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I tend to collect a lot of recipes, but use very few. I love to cook with chicken, salmon and potatoes, among other things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember cooking as a kid with my stepdad. He was a school principal, so summer afternoons were spent planning dinners. We "created" a lot of forgotten recipes, but we had great fun!
My cooking triumphs
I made a fabulous Pumpkin Toffee Cheesecake for Thanksgiving three years ago and it has become a tradition. I also make an awesome Peach Toffee Crisp (toffee is fun to cook with) which is served in individual ramekin dishes.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few...I'm not a very patient cook. I tend to rush things and when that happens, disaster sometimes strikes.

Beef Tips and Noodles
Great base recipe. I followed exactly, except I used fresh mushrooms that I satueed in a bit of butter with chopped onions and garlic. I served over rice instead of noodles. The final product was very yummy. This is defintely a recipe I will make again.

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds
Loved, loved, loved this recipe. I too modified the original to include 1/2 of brown sugar and a bit of vanilla. I believe my friends will be very happy with the gifts I give them this year.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken
A great recipe for the busy cook. Very basic, but very good! I added just a little chopped garlic to the butter as it was melting. Love the garlic in this house!
