Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Great dressing! It was exactly what you expect a greek salad to taste like. I didn't have any dijon mustard so I used dried mustard instead and it was great. Thanks for sharing!

Mimi's Giant Whole-Wheat Banana-Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
These muffins are good but I also found them a little lacking in the flavor department. And as other mentioned the strawberries make the muffins gooey, and that's even after I diced them quite small. But over all they were a good healthy option for a muffin.

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I made these ribs on Christmas Eve. But I didn't read the whole recipe before hand and didn't know the cooking process. So I ended up boiling the ribs for an hour and then putting them on a sheet pan in the over with the sauce at 375 until they were gooey and brown. They were to die for! Everyone loved them and totally pigged out on them. Thanks for the great recipe!

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
I added blueberries to this recipe and I don't think it worked out. The waffles didn't come out light and crisp on the outside. They tasted pretty good, could really taste the flax. I prefer a different texture to my waffles. These ones were kind of limp.

Berry Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
These are terrific! I made them into 6 jumbo muffins and next time will reduce the heat to 350 as the have to bake longer. I also put in more than 1 cup of fruit, probably about 1 and a half. I used half fresh blueberries and half fresh strawberries. Once they were done in the oven I put some raspberry jam in a piping bag, inserted the tip into the center and squeezed some filling in. They taste like Tim Hortons Fruit Explosion muffins. Wonderful!!!!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
I made these this morning because I didn't have any mix left. I will never use mix again! These were great. Simple to make, all normal ingredients that I already had on hand. My family and I loved them. We made a simple mixed berry syrup to top them and they were devine! Thank you.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
Oh my gosh! These are to die for!!! I made these for Sunday brunch tomorrow and I don't know how I will get my husband to leave them alone until then. I made them exactly to the recipe, I used pecans but no raisins because I don't like them. My only issue with this was getting them to rise. I had them on the counter for over and hour and nothing happened. Then I put them in a still warm oven and they began to rise. It worked out in the end ok, except that the middles of the buns rose higher and are like a spiral now instead of a bun. But it doesn't change the taste, and they taste unbelievable! I'm thinking of whipping up a second batch right already. Thanks so much for this keeper of a recipe!

This dip was ok. It's usually a favorite of mine but I found this one to have to much mayo.

Warm Blue Cheese Dip with Garlic and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I made this for the adults at my son's second birthday party. I unfortunately didn't have any due to being ill. However the people that tried it didn't go back for more which leads to me to think they didn't enjoy it very much. It was easy enough to make though.

Pizza Stix

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I grew up eating these little treasures. We called them Pizza Fingers. I made them for my son's birthday party and there wasn't even one left. The little changes I made were just that I used only pizza sauce, pre-sliced pizza pepperoni and a small stick of mozza cheese. That's all that were in them when I used to get them back home. I will make this again and again and again forever! Thank you for sharing this.

Coconut Macaroon Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I've made these brownies twice now. I think they are to die for! The only reason I didn't give the recipe a 5 was because it is a little difficult to make. The brownie mixture is SOOOOO thick that it is almost imposible to work with. I had to add some milk to it just to be able to get the top layer spread out. Other than that, this recipe is fantastic!

Mint Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
This cake was easy enough to make. I automatically took the other reviewers suggestions about freezing in between steps, which only needed about 20-30 minutes each. And about doubling the extract amount. The cake looked nice when it was done, I did mine in a round springform and used a homemade cake recipe. I topped it with whipped cream swirls and Junior Mint candies. However, the cake was so sweet, I could only handle about 2 bites. The combination of the two frostings is way too much. I will probably not make this cake again unless making major adjustments to it.

Banana Macaroon Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I haven't tasted this recipe yet, it's for brunch tomorrow. However I had a few issues with this recipe. First I didn't think it made very much. I used my "death by chocolate bowl" and it was only a little over half full. Second, the directions say to cook the macaroons until the edges are golden brown, which is what I did. However when it cooled, the middle was still soft and chewy. Since there was no detail describing how it should be, I thought it was undercooked because I couldn't "crumble" it. So I had to cook it some more, therefore making the whole thing take longer. I also had to use extra whipped cream because when spreading, it picked up a lot of the crumble so I had to layer it thicker. It looks alright, has ingredients I like so I assume it will taste good. ***I had a chance to taste this dish today and it was wonderful. It's light and the macaroons are amazing in it. I still have the issues listed above but next time I might just double the recipe. The taste was a 5 but the recipe itself was a 3.

Low-Fat Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Oh this soup was so good! I doubled the recipe and the only small things I changed were that I put 1 cup of cauliflower with the almost 3 cups of potatoes and I used beef stock instead of chicken because I didn't have enough. I pureed it at the end before adding the cheese. WILL MAKE AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!

Banana Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
These cookies are fabulous! Of course I made tons of changes to them too, but without a good base, you have no where to start. I cut the sugar in half, and used a bit less butter. Then I added a single fat free vanilla yogurt, a few sprinkles of wheat germ, and instead of chocolate chips I added a trailmix with lots of seeds and dried fruit, then dates and coconut. They are so wonderful! You can really taste the banana but they just feel healthy and hearty. Yum!!!

Cheese Cake Cups

These were really good. I made them for Easter brunch. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the cookie in the bottom goes soft and then you can't really pick it up to eat it.

Easy Rhubarb Jam

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
This is the jam that one of my grandmothers used to make when I was little. She called it Rhubarb-Pineapple jam but it was the same as this. I was so happy to find this recipe. I've never made jam before so this was my first try. So far it tastes great, but it doesn't seem to be as good as my Grandma's...might just be in my head though. Anyway, I didn't use as much sugar as was called for and I switched most of it for Splenda.

Banana Bread VIII

Reviewed: May 5, 2007
I tried the substitute of yogurt for shortening and I don't know what happened but mine was like glue in the middle. I will probably try the recipe again because it smelled so good while cooking, but next time I'll stick to the actual recipe.
