About this Cook
Well, I've lived in lots of places and been exposed to lots of different types of food. I must say my favorite is Southern Cookin! (followed by Sushi) Espically some grilled chicken, greens and cornbread!! I grew up with a single parent so I started cooking at an early age to help with the work load at home. Most of the food we had back then was the good o'le spaghetti, steak fingers, lasagna, Sausage gravy on biscuits, burgers, nachos, hamburger helper and so on......I really try to eat healthier now. lol I really like the South Beach recipes. I now have a family with my soon to be husband and our 3 kids. In the last 2 years 2 of his children have moved in with us and my cooking has been pushed to the next level! I found this site a couple of years ago and I use it all the time!!! I love this site!!!
My favorite things to cook
I guess my favorite thing to cook would be anything on the grill on a nice summer evening, sipping on wine (or a fixed up chalada) and relaxing after a full day. I don't eat much pasta, I rather cook a chicken, shrimp, beef, maybe chops. I also make lots of salads. Mostly variations of the green salad.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I must say my Mom has always made the best turkey with home made stuffing and deviled eggs! Which have been passed on to me. She's still living in Colorado but I can't go anywhere around the holidays without taking deviled eggs with me. It seems the more I make the more they want. The most I've made so far is 3 dozen eggs!!!
My cooking triumphs
I have found a killer glazed ham recipe that people just RAVE about. I ended up having to cook 4 hams last Christmas!! I'm mostly known for my deviled eggs, turkey, salads and ham. I know I need to put them on here..... it only took me 3 years to make a profile!! lol
My cooking tragedies
Can't think of anything off the top of my head....no saying there weren't any. I have been told by my Southern cookers to "season till you can see it" lol they use lots ot Tonys and Season Salt..... Good food!

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin
Delish! I got a pork tenderloin and sliced it into strips to put on skewers. Marinaded over night and grilled.Fabulous flavors!I made some extra teriyaki sauce but ended up not needing it! Served with egg rolls and fried rice. What a good and easy recipe! Thank you so much!

Bechamel Chicken Pasta
What a great recipe!Wonderful flavors!I felt like I was eating in a restaurant! The only thing I would change is to make either less noodles or more sauce. The noodles really soak it up.I also used 5 chicken breasts per another users suggestion. This was really very good!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Tons of flavor! Very very good. I read from a previous post that the she mashed the potatoes a little and added instant potatoes to thicken it a bit. Be careful when doing this cuz I added too much and it was still good but felt like I was eating a bowl of mashed potatoes. Will definately make again!!
