About this Cook
I have been cooking all of my life. My dad is a food scientist, I have been able to learn a lot from him, which I really appreciate. At my home critiquing the food is as much a part of dinner as eating is, but we have come up with some amazing recipes this way!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake desserts, I can't lie. I can make a good meal, but I usually plan it around dessert. :-)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking together, wheter it be a big breakfast on Saturday, up in the mountains on a camp stove, our special Christmas Eve dinner, or our traditional Ham & Puff Pastry for Christmas breakfast. Don't even get me started on Thanksgiving!
My cooking triumphs
Winning "Best of Fair" in a cooking contest. I made an Australian dessert called Pavlova, (named after the famous ballerina) it is a large meringue that you cover with whipped cream and fresh fruit. DELICIOUS!!!
My cooking tragedies
When I started cooking as a little girl I mixed up and used vinegar instead of vanilla when I was making chocolate chip cookies--not a good substitution!

Easy Peach Cobbler
Love it, delicious! This is such a great recipe--so easy and yet so yummy! Everyone that I have made it for has absolutly loved it and asked for the recipe. I have only made it with canned peaches so far, but I'm not complaining. The only changes that I have made are: cutting the cream cheese into the cake mix with a pastry cutter, and then put the pats of butter over that mixture, and adding nutmeg (as others have mentioned). I have used both yellow and white cake mixes and I like them both.
