About this Cook
Happily married, father of 3 daughters. Soon to retire from the military. Going into the teaching profession when I do get out.
My favorite things to cook
I love italian cooking. Being stationed there for a little while let me savor real italian dishes. I was in heaven. I also enjoy making comfort foods (chicken and dumplings is my daughters favorite, casseroles, big sunday dinners). I guess those remind me of my mom.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess my favorite tradition is the Holidays. Starting with Thanksgiving dinner. Then onto all the Christmas baking. And ending with our traditional New Years dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for 75 guest after our daughters baptism. What a challenge but a great sense of satisfaction when everyone enjoyed the meal.
My cooking tragedies
Whenever my family does not enjoy something I have made.

Amber's Sesame Chicken
Very good recipe. Was afraid to use the 5 spice with littler ones for guest. I did cut down on the sesame seeds but added some sesame oil when frying to make up for it. Like others I tripled the sauce. Added some thai garlic chile hot sauce for some added kick. Will definitely make again.

Barbie's Tuna Salad
I thought this was a very nice twist on the regular tuna salad. I did cut down on the mayo as others have suggested. I did not add the parsley. Only things I added to it was a pinch of sesame seeds and I added 2 chopped hard boiled eggs to it. Wife enjoyed it. The girls did until I told them it was tuna fish. They wont eat any fish for some reason. Should have told them it was chicken salad.

Tomato Basil Linguine
My wife has been making this for years. Very nice flavor and quick to make. A summertime favorite for us.
