About this Cook
I'm happily married and have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
My favorite things to cook
I love to get my hands in bread dough. Also making pies. They are some of my favorite desserts. Those two things are dangerous for me to have around. I also like making soups in the winter.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy planning meals for the holidays and sharing recipes with my daughters.
My cooking triumphs
Most recently I created my own recipe for peanut butter ice cream. I took it to a barbecue and was a little nervous because no one seemed excited about it, until they tasted it. It was a hit and several people asked for my recipe.
My cooking tragedies
One that comes to mind is when I was doing a stir-fry and mistakenly added baking soda instead of cornstarch. Not a pleasant experience! That's only one of many but that's how you learn.

Easy Biscuit Mixture
I was SO happy with the way this recipe turned out. For some reason I'd been having so much trouble with my biscuits. They just never came out right. This are so easy and come out light and fluffy. They look and taste wonderful. I always use buttermilk. That's for a great and time-saving recipe.

Fluffy Biscuits
The taste of these biscuits is great! For some reason I've been having problems with my biscuits lately and was looking for a new recipe. The only thing wrong with these is that 2/3 cup of milk is way too much. I made three batches, baked them for seven minutes to freeze and use later (love doing this) and in the last batch I cut the milk back to half a cup. That was just right! All in all, I was really happy with this.

Chicken and Pasta in a Mango Cream Sauce
For me, the key to this recipe is making it a day ahead. A recipe has to be really good for me to consider it a keeper, considering how many great recipes there are. On day one I wasn't so sure, even though my husband liked it. After eating left-overs on day two I decided it is a keeper. All the flavors seemed to blend together so much better. The onion was really sweet and the sauce really creamy and yummy. Very nice!!!
