About this Cook
I'm a grad student, just trying to get my degree and maybe eat something along the way, if I can find the time.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything, as long as it's from scratch, and others enjoy it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Jamaican, so they cook a LOT, and they do it well. I love foods with a lot of spices and a lot of flavor.
My cooking triumphs
Pancakes, crepes, lasagnas, mac and cheese, pies, soups, and quiches. Moderate recipes involving pasta, ribs, chicken, and shrimp.
My cooking tragedies
Not too many lately, thank goodness.

Easy Cajun Jambalaya
Pretty good, but for me adding tomato sauce really gives it that extra dimension of flavor.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup
Extremely bland. The evaporated milk and half and half did it in. Perhaps I'm just used to foods with a lot of spices and flavors.

Cajun Chicken Pasta
Seems I accidentally used creole seasoning instead of cajun seasoning, but it was still great. I know that with cajun it'll be just as delicious. Point is, if cajun is too spicy for you, use the creole instead (I used a little more than 2 tbsps). That way you can still enjoy this delicious recipe.
