I substituted dry potato flakes with frozen hash browns, then fried until crispy. Oh were these ever good!

This receipe is being requested for every holiday by my family. No more mashed potatoes and gravy to go with the ham. It's always hashbrown casserole now. It's wonderful with all meats. I'd say for sure there are no fewer calories in this, but it's soooo much more delicious!

This recipe rates up there with the best of kolaches. Something I especially like about this one is the suggestion of leaving the kolache flat with a center indention filled with preserves. They are beautiful served on a tray this way, and you can see what you are getting. My personal preferences are strawberry, apricot, & blackberry, but the choices are limitless! Ummmmm, good!
