Edamame Dip (Edamole)

I made this pretty much following the recipe (I used dried chipotle instead of canned), and it came out dry and gritty. I added lime juice, salsa, and cream, and then blended it in the food processor for a long time. In the end it came out okay.

Peach Ice Cream

This is wonderful ice cream. I made it up last night, and it wouldn't seem to set. Finally, after running my ice cream maker in the freezer for an hour, it thickened up to milkshake consistency. I thought it might get better after sitting in the freezer for a night, and voila, this morning we had perfect peach ice cream.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Pretty good. The cobbler dough came out too wet and thin, but overall it tasted good. It did not keep well, and I would recommend eating it the same day it is baked.

Perfect for a summer dessert or for brunch. Everyone said it was great. I will make it again. I think it would be slightly improved if there was a little more flour in the topping mixture.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

This turned out pretty well, the guests loved it, but I thought the filling was a little soft. I think next time I'll use a recipe that has just a bit of flour in it, to make it a tiny bit more cakey. I substituted gingerbread crumbs for graham cracker crumbs for the crust.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Excellent recipe. I don't have a bread machine, so I just used the kitchen aid (proofing the yeast in 110 degree sugar/water mixture, letting it rise until double in size, and then following the rest of the recipe). They came out very tender and poofy. Make sure you watch them carefully, they can burn easily.

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Excellent recipe! It was clear, and easy to follow. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I topped with white chocolate whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries. Four of us ate the whole cake within 12 hours. Yum!

Poppy Seed Bread with Glaze

This recipe went over well. It turned out more like a cake than a bread, but it was yummy. I reduced the oil to 1 cup, and omitted the almond extract and butter flavoring. The glaze turned it from good to great.

Hamantashen

These turned out really well. I did make a few small adjustments; I reduced the butter to 1 cup, and increased the sugar to 1.5 cups. I used a variety of fillings including jam, poppy seeds and peanut butter with chocolate. They were a hit.

Cream Puffs

Excellent recipe! I wanted a easy but impressive dessert to take to a potluck and this was perfect. Make sure you have the water and butter still boiling when you add the flour, otherwise the puffs won't rise at all. I used more milk and less cream in the filling and it was still great. I melted some semi-sweet chocolate with a little cream and drizzled it over the filled puffs. Yum!
