About this Cook
I am a newly engaged, 27-yer-old Mental Health Therpist. I live in Chatham, New York with my Fiance, Jason, his son, Ray, and our cute 2-year-old lab/Chow mixed pup, Ginger.
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking treats and desserts. There is something special about offering sweet treats to others, especially in the fall and winter with seasonal fruits, vegetables, and spices. I mostly enjoy baking sizeable treats to give as gifts such as cookies, bars, muffins, quickbreads, cupcakes, and pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from an Italian family where foods such as lasagna, chicken and eggplant Parmsean, baked ziti, and my Mom's meatballs and homeade tomato sauce were treasured dinner time, and holiday meals.
My cooking triumphs
I think every cook has cooking triumphs, but some recipies that folks have responded well to include oatmeal sanwich cookies, peanut butter sandwich cookies, caramel cheesecake, summertime Berry trifle, apple caramel trifle, and spicy white lasagna, to name a few.
My cooking tragedies
One dessert that I still struggle with are cakes. I have made some good cakes before, but I have certainly had my tragedies. Firstly, I live in an old house that is a bit crooked. When I try and bake a cake, it comes out lopsided, which really frustrates me. Also I still fight with bundt cake pans. I have a hard time telling when it is done, and still over bake them, and have difficulty getting them out of the pan. I once made this ginger bundt cake, and it broke apart when I tried getting it out of the pan, and it was a shame because the cake was delicious but looked horrible.

Queenie's Killer Tomato Bagel Sandwich
This was delicious! I added some romaine and bought veggie cream cheese instead. It was great.

Deviled Eggs I
This recipe wasn't bad. I used a mixture of light Mayo and miracle whip, which gave it a slight zing. I also used smoked paprika to (obviously)give it a nice smokey flavor, which I thought was tastey. Regarding the review above; the tint of the yolk mixture doesn't matter so much if you sprinkle more paprika over the eggs when finished, like the picture above.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle
This was so good! I added layers of cheesecake flavored pudding as well. The different fruits gave it a great flavor, and the angel food cake was nice and lite to compliment the sour cream/whipped topping mixture. I will definitely make this again!
