I'm finishing up my undergraduate degree at St. Kate's in St. Paul, but I still find some time here and there to do a little baking and cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Cupcakes of all kinds, party cookies, soups, slow cooker meals, marinades, casseroles (You betcha I'm from Minnesota!), and anything fairly simple with great taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up in rural Minnesota we ate a lot of farm-type foods that will always be my favorites... apple spare ribs, mashed potatoes, soups of all kinds, and fresh baked bread just to name a few. My Mennonite heritage is also rich in wonderful ethnic foods.

I'm known for my saucepan brownies :)
My cooking tragedies
Bread...I just can't seem to replicate Grandma's style! She always rose at about 5 a.m. on Saturday's to make three loaves of wheat bread...hopefully I can eventually bake as well as she did without getting up that early!
