Well I am a transplanted Canadian. I've lived in the US for 10 yrs now and I love it here. I think food is really my one true love. I've been cooking since I was 12 and over the last several years I have been trying to keep it healthy without sacrificing the satisfaction from a really good meal. I work full-time and am always looking for healthy, easy meals that I can prepare in less than an hour. My biggest challenge right now is cooking healthy meals for two. My New Year's resolution is to drop the extra wieght that my fiance and I have put on together and portion control is key.
My favorite things to cook
I love pastas, steaks and anything with chicken. The trick is keeping it new, tasty and healthy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sadly I don't really have any cooking traditions to share. I grew up in a meat and potatoes family where our vegetables came from a root cellar and our meat came from the woods. By moving so far away from my family I have missed out on many traditions and several of them are just not practical in this day and age, and are certainly not very good for my waistline.
My cooking triumphs
The most important moment to me after a meal is when my significant other says 'that was good honey' ... thats all that matters.
My cooking tragedies
No real tragedies so to speak. My weakness is baking, it always tastes wonderful, but its usually rather unattractive.
