Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This was good however, I like my Alfredo with more flavor. It diffidently needed thyme and basil. While it was cooking I thought it was way too thin. Then I added it to the pasta and it immediately thickened....almost to much. So be aware it might look thin but more than likely it won't be once added to the pasta.

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
mmmmmmmmm, so yummy! To the cinnamon and cloves I also added 1/4 tsp. ginger and allspice. The ginger was so good in this bread. It did turn out a bit on the dry side so I think I'll try adding oil as well.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I love this recipe! I had bought macadamia nuts on sale and some white chips but had no idea how to make these cookies and only hoped I could find a good recipe. I did! The cookies were so soft and delicious.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
A good friend suggested this recipe and I'm glad she did. Not only are they good but, the recipe makes quite a few cookies so they last in out house a little longer. I like to use the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips so you get lots of chocolate in every bite.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Your dressing saved my supper! I made the salad and then realized I had no dressing left. This was delicious for how few ingredients there are.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I enjoyed this recipe. I used fresh sage (diced) and beef broth instead of bouillon. The leftovers I think were even better. However, I was a little confused about whether or not all the juice should be simmer down or not, since you are suppose to cover the pan, the one cup of broth stays. I suppose if you added cornstarch to it you'd have a nice gravy to add to some potatoes.

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread

This is pretty good. I wish the chocolate part was a little sweeter.....I don't know, it just needed something. Don't get me wrong though, the family gobbled it up.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
My husband loved these and so did I. I didn't follow the recipe exactly though. I needed to use up some leftover grilled meat and added it to the mix. It was so good with the meat added, I'm almost sorry I did so because now I'm not sure I'll like it as much without the meat. Although, now I have a recipe to use up that last little bit of grilled meat. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I used round steak instead of a roast for easier slicing and since you let it simmer for tenderness it never really made any difference. I couldn't stop eating this it was so good and neither could my children. I couldn't believe it! However, I was almost undone at the thought of how much butter I added but, oh my, how it added to the flavor.

Freezer Cucumber Pickles

So sweet and crunchy! My mother gave me an old recipe that was very similar to this one but, I used this one instead since the instructions were a little more detailed. I added less onions than called for but, that was just personal taste.

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This was o.k. Definitely better the next day. I tasted it fresh out of the oven and it had a very eggie taste to it. The next day that flavor all but disappeared. However, this is made very similarly to beer bread and I would rather eat the beer bread.

Deviled Eggs

I love this recipe. I had never made deviled eggs before because everyone else always made them. This recipe calls for just enough to feed my family and so I use it quite regularly.

Vietnamese Sandwich

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, my husband who doesn't rate anything at a 5, did so with this one. I don't even really care for cucumber or cilantro but, ohhhh the mixture of them together along with the mayo and lime and chili sauce, my taste buds were shouting for joy. I can't wait to try the carrots with it.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
I had to really cut down on the cayenne pepper due to the fact we had children with sensitive palates who were going to be eating it. However, I thought this was pretty bland otherwise. It had no other flavor and I even added garlic to the breading. The dipping sauce is what makes this recipe. Without it, it is just plain old bland fried chicken. It's not great but, it's not bad either.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

I feel kind of bad rating this recipe since I really didn't follow it and followed all of the reviewers suggestions instead. I made my own seasoning mix and the family loved them. Thank you so much for the idea though. I'll be making them often now.

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This is the way my mother makes ribs although she changes what she boils them in quite often. Sometimes she'll use part fruit juice to boil them in and that's really good as well. I followed this recipe and they turned out tender and delicious.

Carne Adovada

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This is really tasty. I didn't have any dried New Mexico chili powder so instead I took 3 cups of water and boiled it turning the heat off after it reached boiling. Meanwhile I took the stems and seeds out of 5 whole red chili's and added them to the hot water and let them sit and soak for about a half an hour or so, making sure they were completely submerged. After this I put water and chili's into the blender and pureed them. Then followed the rest of the recipe as stated except I ended up using the slow-cooker. I should have added more water cooking it this way because after I came home 8 hours later it was starting to burn to the bottom of the slow-cooker. I would suggest using a lot less salt as well because after you make the sauce and before you put it on the meat to marinade it is not salty at all but, after the meat has cooked and the sauce has thickened it is way too salty. Maybe use only half as much as it calls for.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This turned out wonderful as a quick afternoon lunch. I had the meat marinating in the fridge overnight in the soy sauce, rice wine, ginger and garlic sauce. The next morning I had my rice cooker set to start cooking my rice at noon. Later I heated up oil, threw in the meat and snow peas and served it over the rice....delicious!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I love this roll recipe. So light and sweet. I tried making "clone of a cinnabon" from this web site and the bread isn't nearly as good as this. So now I use this as the bread for my cinnamon rolls and use the "clone of a cinnabon" recipe for the filling. I also made clover leaf rolls out of this and they turned out wonderful as well.

Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I've grown up on ham and beans. The kind you make with the leftover baked ham. I was making a batch the other night and wondered if "all recipes" had a tasty alternative instead of what I was use too. I saw this one and thought the sugar was odd but was curious anyway. I was disappointed....the sugar was crazy weird tasting in the beans. Not my thing. Although, I did like the spice and think I'll keep doing that.
