About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom with 3 picky little eaters and I've got a great husband who isn't picky at all. I don't exactly love to cook but, since it was part of the job description, I try and give it my best shot.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake bread and sweet things. I also like trying to make ethnic food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No real traditions however, when we lived in New Mexico for four years I learned to make some real good ethnic dishes. These are my families favorites and they're all the more fun to make when everyone joins in.
My cooking triumphs
My first loaf of bread (I couldn't believe I actually made it!) And an almond ring I could never get quite right after the first time.
My cooking tragedies
So many! But the one that stands out in my mind would be the time right after I was first married and I tried to use up the left over taco meat in the spaghetti sauce. My husband was grossed out but laughed about it just the same.

Sage Pork Chops
I enjoyed this recipe. I used fresh sage (diced) and beef broth instead of bouillon. The leftovers I think were even better. However, I was a little confused about whether or not all the juice should be simmer down or not, since you are suppose to cover the pan, the one cup of broth stays. I suppose if you added cornstarch to it you'd have a nice gravy to add to some potatoes.

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread
This is pretty good. I wish the chocolate part was a little sweeter.....I don't know, it just needed something. Don't get me wrong though, the family gobbled it up.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos
My husband loved these and so did I. I didn't follow the recipe exactly though. I needed to use up some leftover grilled meat and added it to the mix. It was so good with the meat added, I'm almost sorry I did so because now I'm not sure I'll like it as much without the meat. Although, now I have a recipe to use up that last little bit of grilled meat. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.
