About this Cook
I'm a fairly-newly-wed midwestern working girl who squeezes in cooking whenever I can. My husband is Mexican and excellent at cooking Mexican dishes for us. We diverge in interests when it comes to meat because I don't eat meat and he can't get enough. Therefore, I'm always on the lookout for recipes that will manage to entice both of us so that we're not always cooking separately!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking a big batch of soup to share with a group of friends on a cold autumn or winter evening.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is notorious for the oodles of Christmas cookies and candies she bakes each year, and it is a tradition for my sisters and I to go home and help out, and taste the samples!

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup
I didn't buy roasted chicken, so I just put some uncooked chicken breasts in the oven with butter, salt & pepper. I also skipped the celery because I don't like it. But the soup was still fantastic!

Salmon Chowder
This got rave reviews at a dinner party I threw last night. Like other reviewers, I used filets of salmon instead of canned, and instead of evaporated milk, I used half'n'half and milk. Great fall comfort food!
