I was born in the Netherlands as the oldest of 3 children. My mother let me help in the kitchen as often as I wanted and I could try out any new recipe as long as I would clean up afterwards. I have been living in the US for almost 10 years now and love the southern food which has now been included in my repertoire which is a mix of european, indonesian (previous colony of the netherlands) and other asian, jewish (my husband is Jewish), and just any recipe that looks interesting. deserts, indonesian food, breads, and about anything that looks interesting and exciting. a mix of good old dutch food and indonesian dishes apple baked chicken I can't really recall a true tragedy. Just things that didn't turn out as good as they looked.
