About this Cook
I have been attempting to learn to cook for quite some time but in the past few years I've gotten a lot better thanks in part to a certain celeb's half hour cook books :) I'm starting out slow and working my way up to the professional cookbook I also received a few years ago. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to make a recipe of my own completely from scratch but for now I just use others' recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love making comfort food (stews, spaghetti, biscuits and gravy), the kind of food that fills you up and makes you feel warm and cozy inside. I am also really liking trying new things. I recently made miga's for the first time and I gotta say they weren't that bad!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any family traditions but I'm working on starting some of my own.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs is a pretty strong word, I think when whatever I make gets eaten without any leftovers it's a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count from the early days of attempting to cook. Things were burned, things were undercooked, I was all over the spectrum.

Spinach Chicken Enchiladas
I made the recipe as it says and it was great!! I had a request to make spinach chicken enchilada's and this was the only recipe I found on allrecipes.com. Next time I might add some green chiles or pepper jack cheese but that's only because I like my enchilada's to have a little more of a kick. It was still great without them though :)

Pork Tenderloin Marinade
Perfect go to marinade that can be used for grilling or baking. Most items already on hand so a perfect recipe to use for last minute pork meals.

Beef Steaks With Blue Cheese
WOW! That pretty much covers it. This was a super easy recipe and it tasted delicious!!! There were only two things I did differently, one was to grill the steaks rather than use the broiler. We're very partial to grilled steaks in our house so there was no other option for us. Second difference was to use "I can't believe it's not butter" rather than butter, simply because we did nto have any butter in the house. Having nothing to compare it to, I say it worked just fine. I will definitely make this recipe again!
