About this Cook
I'm living in the Cayman Islands for a year with my husband. It's been fun to try Caribbean foods and I love the beaches and scuba diving here. Amazing! We're in for a big change this fall when we move to Maine. I'm excited!
My favorite things to cook
Anything in the slowcooker - roasts, chicken, soups. It all tastes better in the slow cooker, and I love coming home and having dinner ready for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family loves to bbq. Growing up in southern California, we bbq'd year round.
My cooking triumphs
I did my own Christmas dinner for the first time this year - the ham was really good! It went well enough that I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year. We'll see how it goes...
My cooking tragedies
I substituted baking soda for baking powder in a recipe for breadsticks once - they were absolutely disgusting! I had to throw away the whole batch.

Linguine with Mushrooms & Ham
This recipe is quick and easy - and tasty. I used skim milk for part of the cream to lower the fat and turkey bacon for the ham, and it turned out great.
