About this Cook
First things first... on my star ratings: 3 stars = ok to good, 4 stars = really good, 5 stars = awesome. I love to try new recipes! I like simple and quick meals that don't require a lot of ingredients. I am from the south, so naturally I love Southern food. I have been married to my soulmate for 11 years now and we have a 10 yr old daughter that is such a sweetie!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken Casserole (mom's recipe), green beans with lots of bacon, meatloaf and chicken quesadilla bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making the same Holiday munchies every year (sausage balls, peanut butter balls, etc.)
My cooking triumphs
Any Holiday meal that doesn't go wrong! *LoL* Making meals where people tell you that you should open a restaurant, now that is a compliment!
My cooking tragedies
The lasagna that I forgot to boil the noodles first, talk about "Al Dente"! Placing pizza on the top rack to broil the cheese and forgetting it until the smoke detector reminded me!

The Best Banana Pudding
This was really good! Only thing I would do differently next time is cut back on the condensed milk because this was REALLY sweet. I love my desserts rich, but this was a bit much even for me!

Baked Corn
Very good! The texture of this dish was perfect and just what I was hoping for. I drained the corn and the finished product was not pudding like(wet) nor was it cornbread like(very dry). You have to spoon it from the dish and it was so good that there is no need to change a thing! Thanks for a great recipe!

BLT Salad
Yummy! At first I thought...ok this is going to taste like any other salad that I have prepared, I was wrong! The garlic powder adds that extra "oomph" to the salad. The only changes I made were: **I was out of milk so I microwaved the mayo mixture just a little to achieve a consistency similar to dressing AND I cheated by using the real bacon pieces found with the bagged salad in the grocery store (this just saves time and tastes like freshly cooked bacon when you warm it in the microwave)**. Thanks for a great recipe!
