I learned to cook from my Dad and Mom, watching them cook, and then making some changes myself to what I saw them cook.
I love to cook from scratch, therefore when I cook I try to use canned or packaged stuff ONLY IF ABSOLUTELY NECESARY, if I don't have to I would rather NOT.
I love to watch people cook and learn from them, then try and make thgese recipes myself.
I love to bake, even though baking IS NOT my strong point (things do come out pretty good), my strongest point is savory food especially Mexican food.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts, cookies, pies, cakes, cheesecakes, chocolate desserts, cinnamon rolls, etc.
I love to cook mexican dishes. . .my version of popular mexican dishes like enchiladas, tostadas, dips, fish soups, pickled pigs feet, menudo, goat or sheep, pickled veggies, gorditas de maiz, salsas, etc, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Montalay (a mixture of goat/sheep guts) mixed with carrots, potatos, squash, onions, tomatos, ajalapenos, raisins mole type chile sauce, apples, peaches, etc, etc.
Gross to some people but it really isn't, it it REALLY GOOD, you will love it once you taste it.
My cooking triumphs
Baked stuffed pork loin (bacon, beef hot dogs or sausage, green and red bell peppers, carrots, onions, in chipotle sauce, over veggie rice.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to remove a cake from pan JUST OUT OF THE OVEN. . . = a 10-12 peace puzzle cake.
Flat as a quarter thin chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies instead of pudgy soft and chewey.
6 Pecan Pies (all at once) that simply did NOT thicken as they should have and they ended up in the trash.
