Chocolate Mint Cookies I
LOVED these! OMG. What a great chewy fudgy cookie. Couldn't find any mint wafers, so just used plain chocolate wafers on top and put a tsp of peppermint extract into the batter. Great taste. I will be making these anytime I need a yummy chocolate fix, can't wait to try some new flavours.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
Very good! Loved the slightly chewy and tangy effect of the cream cheese. We didn't find the dough too difficult to work with, like most doughs, it took us some trial and error to get them to roll perfectly and tweak the baking time for the oven etc., but we didn't really see this as a drawback because it's what we were expecting. A great cookie for a 'baking day' with good friends.

Butternut Squash Soup
Very good soup. I kicked the spices up a notch because I was craving spicy - used black pepper, cayenne, mild curry powder & a pinch of nutmeg. I used 1/2 the cream cheese called for, but still noticed that the soup smelled really... cheesy. Didn't taste too cheesy, but the aroma was affected. I think next time I'll go with heavy cream instead. Getting the warm pulp out of a squash that's been roasted or in the microwave without burning your fingers is hard enough, I am not even going to attempt to peel those suckers raw!
