About this Cook
I am married to a paratrooper and have one son. I love to find and try new recipes. Never been really picky about food so I try just about anything before ruling anything out. I find true satisfaction when seeing smiles across the faces of those I just served with a meal. Love to cook!
My favorite things to cook
In my house youll usually finds comfort foods simmering on the stove. Homemade mac-n-cheese, slow cooked roasts, gravies, fried and smothered porkchops, seasoned rice, casseroles, etc. BUT..a couple days through out the week you will find italian foods, mexican foods, and what ever I or anyone else in this household may be craving!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was raised a military brat so i have had the joy of eating all sorts of food coming up. My mother being from the philipines would always have lumpia, pancit, and chicken adobo during the holidays right next to my father who is a texans Ham and turkey, homemade mashed potatoes and dressing. Then being raised on the hawaiian island, a slue of foods become apart of our family traditions, bbq teri chicken, island style potatoe mac salad, and so on.
My cooking triumphs
Id like to think of a triumph when something comes out tasting really terrific even if it wasnt quite what the recipe called for! Thankfully, it happens often!
My cooking tragedies
Years ago, i attempted to fry chicken. Seasoned it well, coated with seasoned flour, placed in hot oil..thought everything was good. Until i realized that the golden brown crispy chicken on the outside was actually still bleeding on the inside. Happy to say, ive come a long long way since then!
