As soon as I could reach the counter, they let me help. By the time I was 10, I was hooked. Now I spend a lot of time watching the cooking channel to get ideas for new stuff to make or pouring over cookbooks from places I've visited. I love making everything from scratch like pizza dough and salad dressings. I hardly ever buy premade items and hamburger helper has been banned in my house since 1998. I made a tiramasu cake from this website with delicate layers and whipped cream icing. My friends from Germany said they hadn't had anything so delicious since they arrived in the States. Now the icing I learned how to make from that recipe is the only icing I use. No more sicking sweet thick icings again! There was this one instance where I thought it'd be a good idea to make stuffed cabbage. This is the only time I felt it was necessary to order pizza after trying the final product. To this day I have no idea what went wrong but it really really went wrong.
