About this Cook
I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom of two boys, 4 and 2, and a baby on the way. This makes my life very busy, running my oldest off to preschool every day and keeping the house tidy with all their antics. :)
My favorite things to cook
Anything that can be thrown together in less than 15 minutes and left alone to cook. Hence, I use my slow-cooker a lot! And when it gets cold, I cook a lot of stews/soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Going to my grandparent's home and spending the night, waking up in the morning to Grandma banging pans around as she made breakfast. Usually it was "mush" with raisins for Grandpa, and then Swedish pancakes for us. YUM! Also, same grandparent's house, making spritz cookies at Christmas time. I also remember being a little girl and helping my mom cook alphabet pretzels on cold, rainy days.
My cooking triumphs
I made a pumpkin cheesecake one year for Thanksgiving that was a Weight Watcher's recipe and brought it to my husband's grandparents home for the holiday. Mine disappeared pretty quickly, and the traditional pumpkin pie was left virtually untouched. Poor Grandma!
My cooking tragedies
Our first year of marriage I tried to make my first turkey the traditional way. Let's just say it didn't work out, as when my husband went to carve the turkey, he pierced the skin and it exploded all over the kitchen! Needless to say, I haven't made a turkey since.
