Basic Chicken Stock

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Excellent basic stock recipe. I make sure that all fat/skin is removed from the chicken before I put it in the pot, and I usually use a whole fryer.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Easy recipe and tastes great! Instead of the milk I used 1/2 portion milk and 1/2 portion half-n-half, and it came out thick, so next time I'll stick with just milk as the recipe calls for.

Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
I read the great reviews and went strictly by the recipe, but the cake didn't taste good to me. The texture was fine, but the taste was too bland. It didn't taste like a typical poundcake that I am used to, like the kind the ladies bake at church bake sales, or the local bakery butter poundcake. I'm not sure why, but the taste simply wasn't there. Sorry.

Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Perfect biscuits! I increased baking powder to 2 1/2 tsp, and I increased baking soda to 1/2 tsp baking soda. This recipe is a keeper.

Pot Roast in Beer

This pot roast recipe is great! The roast which would have been on the tougher side came out moist, tender and flavorful. I highly recommend it for a great dinner!

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

This was much too sweet for me and my family, so I have to give it a low rating. Thanks.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This recipe was a little more work than what I usually put into cornbread, but the taste was worth it. Everyone loved the sweet taste and smooth texture. Next time, I will leave the batter a little more lumpy (I stirred it a bit too much) and I will put something additional into the batter like corn or some peppers for a little added kick. I recommend this recipe.

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
I am sorry but my family didn't care for this meatloaf. The texture was a bit unlike most meatloafs, but it was edible so I rated it a 3-star.

Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
This is a great recipe - the chicken came out moist and tenderful, and flavorful. We used some spaghetti sauce in a 9x12 pan, and laid the chicken on top to bake, covered for a 1/2 hour. Perect!

American Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
This is a great recipe! I used a box of Jiffy pie crust mix for the crust, elimiated the raisins only because my husbands hates raisins, and I added a bit more flour along with 1/8 cup of apple cider. This pie recipe is a keeper!

Three Berry Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I made this pie in a hurry, just to try it out and get a taste of fruit. My husband said it was the BEST pie he'd had in a long, long time...it's a hit! I made it with only the frozen/thawed strawberries and raspberries I had on hand, and it came out awesome. Next time I'll use the blueberries too.

Tender Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2006
This recipe was so darn easy to make, and the chicken was so moist and tender, and delicious - my family love it, and since it's easy to make this recipe is a keeper. I was concerned that using mayo would make this a greasy dinner, but no way, it was not. I just wiggled the chicken, both sides, in the mayo mixture, then into the bread crumbs. I covered mine in a 9x13 glass baking dish for the first 15 minutes of cook time, then I cooked another 10 minutes uncovered, then I actually turned on the broiler for five last minutes.

Mexican Wedding Cakes II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
I've been searching so long for this perfect recipe, and finally I've found it here. These are sometimes called Russian Tea Cakes or Swedish Tea Cakes. I followed the recipe but added 1 tsp. almond extract and these cookies came out moist, delicious, and so good that I must make more! I used my pampered chef scooper to make the balls, but I made them a bit too big so I had to cook them a bit longer. Next time I'll scale down a bit. These are absolutely WONDERFUL!
