About this Cook
I am a wife and mom, and a full-time job keeps me out of the kitchen more than in. I do LOVE to bake scrumptious goodies, and I like to find quick, easy yet healthy and tasty meals for me to easily prepare after a long days work.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cookies and cakes for my friends and family. My love comes through, because they always enjoy whatever I bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just sharing fabulous food with family.
My cooking triumphs
Every Christmas season, just managing to get all the baked goods baked and decorated for delivery to family and friends...that's a major accomplishment!
My cooking tragedies
Biscuits and rolls. Not the preparation, but the baking of them. They are always the last thing I put together for a meal, and 80% of the time I am so busy getting it all on the table that the biscuits and breads inevitably burn during the last few minutes of bake time. I do this all of the time, and it's really kind of odd since I am such a good cook and a super multi-tasker, but the burnt biscuits and breads never fail.

Basic Chicken Stock
Excellent basic stock recipe. I make sure that all fat/skin is removed from the chicken before I put it in the pot, and I usually use a whole fryer.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Easy recipe and tastes great! Instead of the milk I used 1/2 portion milk and 1/2 portion half-n-half, and it came out thick, so next time I'll stick with just milk as the recipe calls for.

Pound Cake III
I read the great reviews and went strictly by the recipe, but the cake didn't taste good to me. The texture was fine, but the taste was too bland. It didn't taste like a typical poundcake that I am used to, like the kind the ladies bake at church bake sales, or the local bakery butter poundcake. I'm not sure why, but the taste simply wasn't there. Sorry.
