About this Cook
I was born of Baptist missionary parents on the island of St.Lucia in the West Indies. In 1978 my husband and I and 2-yr-old daughter came to Brazil as missionaries, where we still are. We now have 4 daughters(all married), 1 son and 3 grandchildren. The Lord has blessed us in every way! (edited on Nov 15,2007: we now have 4 grandchildren!)
My favorite things to cook
I love to make casseroles and other foods made in the oven...especially breads!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pizza on Saturday & spaghetti on Sunday! On Christmas morning, cinnamon rolls are a must-along with hot chocolate.
My cooking triumphs
My cole slaw is probably the dish that has gotten requested more than any other. But I can make a pretty mean whole wheat bread/rolls, too, and my children think that my pizza is the best anywhere(they're prejudiced, I believe).
My cooking tragedies
The first(and worst!)was during our 1st year of marriage. I pressure-cooked liver!!! No more comments needed...!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough
I was hoping I could put 5 stars, but it stuck in the pan so badly, I couldn't. I made it exactly like the recipe even though I was tempted to make a couple of the changes that others made. But I thought I'd give the recipe a fair chance. Don't know what made mine stick. Otherwise, it was fairly good.

Bowler Beef Marinade
This was OK, but I didn't grill it, just stove-cooked it, so maybe that's why it wasn't as it should be. Also, I didn't have soy sauce so I used a small amount of worchester sauce. I should try it again to genuinely test it...and grill it next time!

Homemade Vegetable Juice Cocktail
I downsized this recipe considerably, so maybe that's one reason why it seemed to not be perfect, although it's good. Also, I don't know if some of my veggies were the same size as the recipe asks for. After all, there are different sizes of green peppers, carrots, etc! I'll probably try it again soon, that's how much I liked it.
