Warm Apple Buttermilk Custard Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
This pie is absolutely delicious! I made the recipe as is except i cut the sugar to 1 cup in the custard and it was perfect. I did add more apples because i used a large deep dish pie plate. The ONLY change i will make next time is to use a different topping....it stayed very much like sugar and not very crumbly. Perhaps it just needs more butter but i have definately had better results with different toppings in the past. Truly a must try and delicious pie!

Tomato-Cornbread Salad with Avocado and Cilantro

This is fantastic as is! However if you want to make it incredible...add some crumbled bacon. I've also added a can of rinsed white beans to add some protein for a delicious one dish meal.

Pie Crust IV

Fantastic! Have always used butter but no more for me. This crust is beautiful, flaky and easy to handle. I definately did not use 1/2C. of water however so you need to only use what is needed.

Really very good! I used half ground beef and have italian sausage. Not sure what the eggs add but i did use them. I also added onions, dried oregano and basil to the meet mixture. And i melted a mozzarella/parmasean mix on the top under the broiler...very delicious!

Carne Guisada II

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Delicious! I seared the meat on the stovetop to add some flavor to the end product. Then i put everything in a slow cooker and let it cook all day. The meat basically shredded itself and was awesome!. I did not any water to the recipe and there was also no need (for me) to thicken in the end. Without the water and a long enough cooking time....it thickens very nicely on its own. Served it with fresh cilantro and a sqeeze of lime juice over mexican rice. Try it!

To Die For Garlic Feta Pate

This is GREAT! And we ate it on absolutely everything we could get our hands on. I made it as the recipe states except that i used an entire tin of anchovies(7 total) which just made it richer tasting and not fishy in the least bit. Absolutely delicious.

Gingersnap Pumpkin Cream Tart

Very nice and super easy tart. It was a big hit at Thanksgiving and i made a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie as well. It is not overly sweet at all and was a great dessert after stuffing ourselves earlier.

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake

Very good coffee cake. I doubled the streusel topping and put half in the middle of the cake and the other half on top. I dont see any need to put the foil in the pan first..i didnt and mine came out just fine.

Tomato Sausage Tart

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
I made my own pastry crust and used a tart pan with removeable bottom. Was Delicious! I didnt make the mayo and i dont think it needs it at all. It is definately wise to seed your tomatoes before slicing and i used lots of fresh basil instead of dried.

Mexican Rice II

This was very good although i made a few additions. I added 1 can of drained green chiles at the same time as the onions and when the rice was done cooking i added a can of drained sliced black olives. I also served with some shredded cheese which melted on top.

Sara Jane's Oatmeal Cake

My mother used to make this cake when i was growing up so it was great to find the recipe and make it again after so many years. The cooking time, i agree, is off...i had to bake it for another 20 minutes for it to be done..but was worth the extra cooking time!

Great Pumpkin Dessert

This was pretty good. The pumpkin layer was very yummy but the topping, for my taste, was way to sweet and definately tastes like it came out of a box. I used a spice cake mix
